Did you first configure museekd (with musetup or musetup-gtk) with a username, password, interface socket and interface password (The interface stuff being the important part). Which client are you using?

Hello daelstorm, thanks for the help though, well i didn't done this so now i run "musetup-gtk" and set a password and username and a password for the interface. And i have the museeq 0.1.12 from this website.

I don't know exactly why this is needed or have it to be a existing password from somewhere? i just made my own password. When i than run "museeq" it ask for a password which i than tried "both" i set earlyer but still the same message:"cannot connect to museeq ...connection refused".

Thanks, Laura

You are running an instance of museekd, right? (museek daemon)

BTW, You can launch a museekd from museeq (from the connection dialog), if you don't want to run it separately.

Ok, i run "museekd" from the command line, that let me know that i missing a download dir and temp dir which i than set also. Than when i run "museekd" now i get invalid pass, i try to connect to the default serverr which is ...slsknet ...

So what i swrong now, and i want to suggest to prompt the user for all nessassary inputs on first run. As this would had solved the issues i had till now. And would not create this confusion about "refused connection" at leats this is what i would have done, thanks.

Can someone please tell me if i need a special password or what is wrong with running museek or museekd or with the setup?

Thanks, Laura

If you get an Invalid password message in the museekd output log when connecting to the soulseek server then you need to try a different username, as that one is already taken by another soulseek user.
